She then supported me with follow up requirements with getting replacement retainers. The practise is lovely inside too, highly recommended and won’t hesitate to return in the future. I’ve visited the Smile Showroom quite a few times now as I was having a smile makeover with whitening, a smile trial and composite veneers, and every visit was fantastic. Holly is AMAZING at what she does, my teeth are gorgeous and exactly what I wanted but still look like natural teeth! And she’s very gentle when carrying out treatments which made all the difference. All of the staff there are so lovely and welcoming, I really couldn’t recommend it enough and will be back for my upkeep appointments❤️ thank you all for everything x

What counts as a dental emergency?

Severe toothache, facial swelling, trauma (knocked-out or broken teeth), uncontrolled bleeding, or fever with dental pain. If breathing or swallowing is affected, call 999. Otherwise call 01695 318 262 or NHS 111 out of hours.

I’m in severe pain—what should I do right now?

Take over-the-counter pain relief as directed (avoid aspirin if bleeding), use a cold compress, and call us on 01695 318 262. Don’t place aspirin on the gum or tooth—this can burn tissues.

A tooth has been knocked out. Can it be saved?

Handle by the crown, not the root. If clean, gently reinsert and bite on cloth; if not, store in milk or saliva. Call immediately—success is time-critical.

If there’s pain, sharp edges, or you can’t chew, book an emergency. If it’s comfortable, a prompt routine visit may be fine. Temporary filling kits can help protect the area until we see you.

Do you take X-rays during emergency appointments?

Often yes—small, low-dose digital X-rays help locate the cause quickly. They’re included in the emergency assessment fee when clinically needed.
